  8.    Most automobiles being sold today
  9. have all vital functions  controlled
  10. by a computer  chip.  This  chip (an
  11. Eprom) controls and monitors all the
  12. engine functions  such as  gas, air,
  13. vacuum, temperatures and so on.      
  14.   There is really not much we can do
  15. if this chip goes flaky.  It  has to
  16. be replaced.  Even is we have access
  17. to an  Eprom programmer, we  have no
  18. knowledge  of the  program as it has
  19.

  23.   There are programs on the market which
  24. will allow access to this chip for diag-
  25. nostic purposes.  However, if you have a
  26. laptop computer and the proper interface
  27. to connect your  computer to the engine, 
  28. you'll need a vast  amount of electronic
  29. experience to be able to understand what
  30. the computer is  showing.  Best to leave
  31. well enough alone and leave this work to
  32. the professional.
